Updated for 2026 — the classic Interlude epic raid bosses and their legendary jewels.
The Lineage 2 epic bosses are the beating heart of Interlude endgame. From Queen Ant deep beneath the Wastelands to Valakas sealed inside the Forge of Gods, these seven raids shape server politics, and the Antharas, Baium and Zaken drops they guard — the permanent epic jewels — rank among the most fought-over items in the entire game. This guide walks through each boss, its approximate level, its lair, and the signature jewel that makes it worth going to war over.
The lesser epics: Queen Ant, Core and Orfen
The three "lesser" epics sit in the mid-game level range and are most players' first taste of true raid content. They are easier to organize around than the major dragons, but on a busy private server they are still fiercely contested — spawn windows tend to turn into open-field PvP more often than not.
Queen Ant
Queen Ant (often shortened to AQ) is the earliest epic, sitting at roughly level 40. She rules the Ant Nest, a cave complex tucked beneath the Wastelands south of Gludio. Her signature drop is the Ring of Queen Ant, a low-cost, high-value jewel that hands out bonus MP, improved HP recovery, and resistance to crowd-control effects such as Hold. Because the entry bar is low, AQ is usually the first epic a growing clan learns to farm on a schedule.
Core
Core is a level 50 raid boss lurking on the upper floors of Cruma Tower. The floor becomes a PvP zone while he is alive, so expect company. Core drops the Ring of Core, which grants extra MP, a solid chunk of Poison resistance, and a small Accuracy boost — a quietly useful ring for both melee fighters and casters.
Orfen
Orfen, also level 50, is a roaming boss that patrols the Sea of Spores, which makes her harder to pin down than a stationary raid. She yields the Earring of Orfen, prized for its bonus MP, increased healing received, and strong Bleed resistance. Paired with the Ring of Core, Orfen's earring forms the classic mid-game epic set that carries characters into A-grade.
The major epics: Zaken, Baium, Antharas and Valakas
The four major epics are true endgame content. They demand a full raid force, careful timing, and — on most servers — the muscle to win the PvP that erupts the instant they spawn. This is where the most powerful jewels in the game live.
Zaken
Zaken, the cursed pirate captain, is a level 60 boss haunting the ghost ship on Devil's Isle. His fight has time-of-day mechanics: his curse fuels brutal HP regeneration at night, so raids traditionally wait for in-game dawn before committing. He drops the Earring of Zaken, a strong all-round jewel offering bonus MP and useful resistances that make it a staple for aspiring PvP characters.
Baium
Baium waits at the very top of the Tower of Insolence and, in Interlude, sits around level 75. Reaching him requires completing a quest just to open the door. The reward is the Ring of Baium, one of the best PvP jewels in the game: it stacks M.Def, MP, Poison and Hold resistance, bonus critical damage, and extra attack and casting speed. It is a top target for anyone chasing an edge in the Olympiad and Hero grind.
Antharas
Antharas, the Land Dragon, is a level 79 colossus dwelling in the Lair of Antharas beyond Dragon Valley. Killing him is a server event in itself. His Earring of Antharas is an S-grade powerhouse, layering bonus MP, heavy Bleed and Stun resistance, healing and vampiric effects, reduced MP consumption, and Earth resistance — one half of the ultimate caster jewel set.
Valakas
Valakas, the Fire Dragon, is the pinnacle at level 85, sealed inside the Forge of Gods. Note that despite how some guides label it, Valakas does not drop a ring — his prize is the Necklace of Valakas, an S-grade neck that combines a large MP and HP pool with Sleep resistance and flat boosts to physical and magical attack alongside reduced skill reuse. It is the crown jewel of any endgame character.

Why the epics rule the server
Epic bosses are endgame clan and CP (command post) content, not solo targets. Spawn windows are public knowledge, so the strongest alliances stake them out and the kill frequently comes down to a straight brawl over the corpse. The same organized forces that dominate castle sieges tend to control the epic scene, and holding the jewels only deepens that grip. If you want a realistic shot at these raids, invest early in a strong, high-level clan — our clan leveling guide covers how to build one up quickly. Because the jewels are permanent, endgame-defining upgrades, expect every epic timer to be treated as a scheduled war rather than a casual farm run.
